3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 9499 is a high temperature adhesive transfer tape used for extra protection in critical splicing applications that require low profiles and high temperature resistance. This conformable tape is mounted on a 60 lb. densified kraft paper liner.
Ideal for Zero Speed Splicing of Most Grades of Paper
3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 9499 is a transparent, 2 mil, high temperature splicing adhesive transfer tape that features high tack and excellent adhesion to most paper stocks. This tape has excellent peel strength on many surfaces and, combined with its thin profile, it’s able to withstand rigorous splicing applications. In addition to performing at higher temperatures, this tape features good low temperature performance. It is mounted on a 60 lb. densified kraft paper liner that is good for die-cutting applications and reduces edge burr in hand tool processing of metal plates. 3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 9499 can perform at temperatures up to 350°F/177°C for short periods of time. It is ideal for high air drying temperatures and oven drying.
Recommended Applications
High Temperature Adhesive
This tape has a firm acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive that features both high initial adhesion and good high temperature performance. In addition, it offers an excellent balance of good initial adhesion (quick stick) and excellent peel strength. This formulation gives the adhesive a consistently strong bond across a range of temperatures, including up to 350°F/177°C for short periods of time. A 60 lb. densified kraft paper release liner provides reliable performance on industrial applications, such as die-cutting and hand tool processing.
What are Adhesive Transfer Tapes?
3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tapes are rolls of pressure sensitive adhesive pre-applied to a special release liner. For application, the tape is simply pressed, adhesive side down, to a surface and the liner is peeled off. A variety of adhesive properties and liners are available to meet requirements for applications such as nameplate attachment to high and low surface energy plastics, appliance graphic overlays that perform in high temperatures, foam gasketing, web splicing, signs, posters, banners, point-of-purchase displays, and more.
