3M designs, formulates, and manufactures 3M™ Car Wrapping Series 2080 for optimum performance and durability. The 3M commitment to quality is the foundation for the warranty coverage we provide. Depending on the size of your car wrapping film coverage, and whether you apply your graphics to a vertical surface (e.g. door panel) or a non-vertical one (e.g. hood, roof), exposure to the elements can affect the duration of your warranty. See the below chart for details.

3M warrants that film will be free of defects in materials and manufacture including the attributes covered in the following table. See the warranty card for complete details.

  • Generally, full car wrap installation takes about a day. However, we recommend leaving your car in the shop for another day to help ensure proper adhesion of the film to the car has been achieved. If you’re looking for a partial car wrap, then the time needed will be much shorter. Upon submitting your request, the installer will be able to inform you of the amount of time that your wrap will require.

  • Yes. Our car wrapping paper are made and tested to withstand the elements. You can help protect the beauty and life of your wrap by storing your vehicle inside when possible, and regular and thorough cleaning.
  • Car wrap should receive the same care as car paint. Regular cleaning is vital, as dirt will get stuck to the vehicle. We recommend routine trips to a brushless car wash (with no hot wax or wax option) or wash carefully by hand using a mild detergent with no additives such as wax. Dry thoroughly to avoid spotting.
  • Yes. When removed within the 3M warranty period, they are guaranteed to remove cleanly. If any residue remains, it is easily cleaned off. Professional removal by a 3M Authorized installer is recommended.
  • Removal within the wraps warranty period is very unlikely to cause any damage. Areas that have been covered by the wrap material may in fact appear more vibrant and glossier having been protected from the elements by the car wrapping paper. However, poorly cured resprays are more vulnerable so always consult the installer if you have had a respray. Professional removal by a 3M Authorized installer is recommended.
  • Certainly, yes. In fact some of the most unique and interesting wraps have been just doing detailing like the roof, hood/bonnet, wing mirrors or front grill. It’s a great way to personalize your car without going to the expense of a full wrap. Get inspired.

If the installer is not available, simply contact 3M at 1-800-328-3908. 3M will direct you to an installer selected by 3M to have your 3M™ Wrap Film inspected and, if your claim is covered, 3M will have the installer provide the stated remedy. Please retain this warranty card as it must be presented along with the original invoice to receive warranty service. Form must be complete for warranty to be valid.

    Vertical angle of exposure:any wrap film installed on a surface that is at a 90 degree to 75 degree angle

    Horizontal angle of exposure: any wrap film installed on a surface that is at a 75 - 0 degree angle

    Limited Warranty and Limited Remedy
    The following warranty is only valid in the United States and Canada.

    3M warrants that applied 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080 will be free of defects in materials and manufacture – including yellowing, bubbling or cracking. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by misuse, accident, misapplication or ordinary wear, nor does it apply to dents caused by physical impact of rocks or road debris. Warranty coverage does not include paint pull during film removal process. This warranty is only provided to the original consumer purchaser and is not transferable.

    Implied Warranty Limitation:
    All implied warranties and conditions, including but not limited to the implied warranty or condition of merchantability, the implied warranty or condition of fitness for a particular purpose, and any implied warranty or condition arising out of a course of dealing or of performance, custom or usage of trade, are limited in duration to the applicable warranty time period. Some states’ jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

    Limitation of Liability:
    Except where prohibited by law, 3M and the installer of the 3M product shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the 3M product, whether direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential, regardless of the legal theory asserted, including warranty, contract, negligence or strict liability. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
